The sound of a thunderous roar reached Violet's ears. Perking her ears she wondered where it came from. With a few leaps and flaps of her wings she climbed higher up the tree. She reached the top and poked her head out of the highest leaves, one sticking onto one of her horns. Shaking it off she looked around to see what had made the noise. Her jaw dropped seeing two dragons in a fight. She wondered what was going on. "Eros do you see that!"

Skye heard the ever so close screech of the Naga dragon as it came closer. Slowly but truly terrified she opened her deep blue eyes to try and see it, when she did, she felt her heart suddenly stop.
The Naga dragon was a rather long and large muscular serpent that had a massive head with two jagged, deadly horns on it's head. It had ruffs of hair that ran down it's back from it's head and ended with it's tail. It had four stubby legs that held deadly claws. The front legs and hind legs were far apart rather than a normal dragon and had a long lean body that it used to swirl in the air in a means of flying since it had no wings.
The Naga dragon parted it's jaws before screeching out again and swerved it's body as it swept with a lunge towards the massive red dragon mother, knocking the wind out of her as it constantly snapped at her face before trying to go for Skye.
Skye's mother hissed and roared preparing to engulf it in flames but the Naga dragon foresaw this move of hers and countered with one of his own causing the mother to release the hold over her daughter as she plummeted down towards the earth with the Naga, her daughter falling a long ways apart from her..

Silla swallowed what she had caught and forced her head back into the hole for more mice. The other rodents had already scurried away. She began to climb away from the hole when she heard a mighty screech from above her. Curious, she looked up.

She saw two flying dragons fighting each other, for what reason she didn't know. The angry beasts were much bigger than herself but were too caught up in their own battle to pay attention to her. The fighting dragons roared again before attacking each other with fire and Silla flinched, sending involuntary sparks from her body.

Both of the dragons fell and she noticed something considerably small fall away from them. The falling object seemed to be moving as it fell and Silla knew it must be one of the fallen dragon's young.

Determined to get to the hatchling first, she leapt off of the hill she was on and began her sprint. Keeping a watchful eye on the falling creature.

Eros continued to hover watchig his new friend swoop down to a branch and felt an urge to do something. He was going to face the ground and pin his wings to his sides, a dive of course, a characteristic of his species. The daring young night fury did so, the rush of the wind past his ears was poetical. When reaching roughly a meter above the ground he opened his wings and was dramatically pulled back up and sat on a branch opposite Violet. He felt slightly dizzy from the whiplash he'd just received. His long tail dangled and it's little wings like rudders fanned out. He smiled at Violet and gave another yawn, the previous night he'd spent chasing small rodents around and the days events was clearly taking it's toll on Eros.

Violet suddenly questioned him in a sense of urgency "Eros do you see that!" he startled as if he'd been asleep. "Huh, What?" he questioned leaping over to Violets branch he scrambled up the tree lizard like. He then crawled over his friends back and stood on the top her head to reach another branch of which now he was sitting upon. He was very light weight for a dragon, enabling his speed and swiftness through the air.

Violet didn't fully appreciate being used as a climbing tool but for now she ignored it. "Over there!" she shouted pointing with her hoof at the dragon fight. As she did so she could see something small falling from one of the dragons. "Eros! I think it's a hatchling!"

Eros looked to where Violet was pointing with her well rounded hoof, Eros faintly frowned at it but more importantly looked to where she was pointing. The night fury squinted to see through the day light seeing a small figure beig tossed around by the wind. "C'mon Violet we have to save it!" and with that he pushed off the branch almost snapping it, taking flight quickly and swiftly. His wings extended as he soon passed the dragon on the ground and the two fighting overhead, hoping he wasn't going to become their meal. Eros retracted his teeth - another characteristic of his species - and swooped down to the hatchling, matching her falling speed and catching her at the last moment. Swooping back up Eros carried her to a cliff edge where another cave lay and landed in it, putting the hatchling on the ground, he sat back studying it.

Violet's ears pricked as Eros said they had to save it. Before she could react though he had pushed off the branch sending the rest of the tree top swinging back and forth, she clung onto the branch she was sitting on tightly, her legs and tail wrapped around it. Waiting until it was steady again she leaped off and flew after the Night Fury. It seemed he had already caught the little dragon and taken it to a cave. Landing inside next to Eros she looked at what he had caught. It was a small dragon, having must have hatched recently. She was red in colour and had many spikes over her. Violet was going to make sure she didn't get to close too those. "What's your name?" she asked it. "And nice catch Eros."

Salix's eyes narrowed sharply as an all too familiar smell rushed through his nostrils; making a growl rise through his throat, "AGAIN?! Really?!" He flapped his wings in anger, half ignoring the roars that came with the smell. Swiftly making his way up sturdy enough tree, he stretched his neck up to get a better view of what was going on. As his eyes caught sight of the two dragons hurtling towards the ground, he winced slightly at the thought of what was going to happen at the end, "one of them is going to cop it. So help the surviving one if it kills a tree."

Just as he was about to return to the ground he caught new movement from the corner of his eye; young dragons. It seemed rather strange to have so many gathered in one place, even more so being that none of them were accompanied by parents of some form. His interest peaking he took a glance back to the two fighters before climbing down and making his way to the cliff, 'young fire breathers are always trouble...' He never considered himself that heartless as to just leave them.

Eros' cheeks reddened at the compliment that Violet had said about his catching of the hatchling. He sat back and his ears twitched as he wondered what the young dragons name was as Violet had questioned. His ears continued twitching and the young night fury got to his feet and padded to the edge of the cave and peered down seeing a large figure moving through the trees, another dragon and it was headed this way! "Violet! Violet! There's a huge dragon headed this way!" he shouted looking back on her and momentarily forgetting the hatchling.

Violet's ears pricked and her eyes went wide as she heard Eros' frantic yells. Quickly her hooves scrambled over the stone to the cave entrance. Looking down the cliff face her ears went back as she saw what was approaching, or more correctly, whom. It was the forest guardian. "We didn't set anything alight," she said. Swishing her tail she said hopefully, "Maybe he's not really coming toward us. He's probably going past us."

The last thing she remembered was her free fall from the sky when she was parted from her mother. Skye shook her head in a daze to find that she was on land, uninjured. Her sight fell upon two figures another dragon and one that who seemed as a Pegasus but held distinguishing features of also being a dragon.
She shook her head, now her focus much more clearer and her body stiffened recognizing the other dragon, a Night Fury. Hearing their panic of another dragon coming she took the chance to scurry off towards the sounds of her mother screeching out as her and the Naga crashed down onto the hardened earth.

Salix stopped himself at the base of the cliff and raised his head to look up to the top. He let out a sigh and frowned to himself and the cliff face, 'never did like this cliff'. Being rather lazy and knowing full well he was never going to be able to climb up the face in the time he wanted to; he stretched out his wings shaking the fatigue from them.

He lowered his front half of his body to the ground, flapping his wings slowly to gather some force under them. Slightly wiggling his behind he forced himself from the ground slamming his wings into the air to give him some lift, before making the accent to the young charges. As he neared the top he grabbed the rock face and continued the rest of the way climbing; folding his wings back to their rightful place.
Standing at the top he sat down bringing his tail around him and looked at the three, "so, someone going to explain what happened?"

Eros stepped back, scared of the huge dragon in front of him, it was intense, the sheer size of the dragon was immense! The young night Fury seemed choked for words "Uh...I..We..um.." he looked back and ran, standing behind Violet, and with his broad nose nudged her forth towards the dragon, as if saying that she will speak. He for the mean time hid behind a rock, his ears pinned back to his neck, yellow eyes still bright in the dark.

The young hatching skidded to a halt when the large male dragon's tail swept across, blocking her path towards her mother. She backed up, crouched and growled lightly, like how she was taught.

Violet's tail clung to her rump and her ears pressed against her head. It was him. The most feared dragon that ruled the forest. Her hooves started to skid toward the dragon, from the corner of her eye she could see that it was Eros giving her the shove. He then retreated behind the hatchling. Some help you are. Violet looked back at the large dragon. Conjuring up her bravest voice, she puffed out her chest and spoke, "We haven't done anything. Eros just saved the young one from falling. And I haven't burnt any of your trees!"

Elemental Water Dragon

Name:
Aqualyn
(name means 'beautiful water' in Spanish)

Age:
She hasn't kept count, but she is at least twelve years of age, which for her species is the equivilent of being about 20 or so in human years.

Appearance:
Aqualyn has sleek, dark blue scales that are so closely-knit and water proof that it is almost impossible to determine where one scale starts and the other ends. She has a long, streamline body, about 16ft from nose to tail and a set of long, blue-black wings that can fold almost seamlessly against her body when she enters the water. She has a retractable set of sharp spines that run from her neck to her tail and a pair of horns curling up around more frills at her jaw-line. She has four legs that are strong for pulling her from water to land, but she rarely uses them for walking. Where the whites of her eyes should be, there is just a dark, impenetrable onyx, and from the centre there are shards of bright blue where the pupil/iris should be and it looks much like an exploding sapphire. Abilities:
- Being an elemental water dragon, Aqualyn naturally has quite good control of the water, being able to make it move (to a certain degree) to her will, much like the abilities of the waterbenders in Avatar the Last Airbender
- She is an excellent swimmer and is most at home in/near water
- A growing ability is that to draw some moisture from her surroundings when there is no water source nearby, though at the moment she can only produce about three cups worth.

Personality
Though water dragons are usually calm and considerate, Aqualyn is far more impulsive and unpredictable and like most members of her species, she has a strong taste for revenge. She is not the sort of dragon you want to get on the wrong side of as she can be fierce and aggressive, and her needle-pointed teeth are not only perfect for catching prey, but slicing between other dragon's scales too. A more solitary animal, she enjoys her time alone, though she will not object to company, and once you have proven youself trustworthy, she can be quite loyal and protective.

A dark figure moved seemingly effortlessly beneath the pristine surface of a large lake, the depths of which unknown. As the roars and screechings of other creatures shattered the peaceful air above the loch the figure's movements became more rapid and agitated, the previously smooth stretch of liquid beginning to swell and ripple. As the sounds of further growls and roars reached keen ears below the surface, the figure began to surge upwards, the water seeming to retreat the further it came to breaching.

Within moments a streamline body had emerged from the water with such a force that the water spurted out around it, droplets of water catching the light and forming a rainbow of colour. The form, now obviously visible as dragon, seemes to sprout two wings as it's blue head swung around to face a cave not too far off in which her keen eyes detected the forms of three young dragons and a fourth older and larger one. Blue-black eyes narrowed into slits, her wings curved up until the tips soared high above her head before swiftly cutting down through the air and propeling her forward like a bullet. With her legs tucked neatly to her sides and her long tail sweeping out behind her she appeared to be swimming through the open air as she sped towards the other dragons with an agitated scowl occupying her face~

Eros became distracted by a giant blue dragon making its way towards the cave. Would this forest guardian protect him and violet? He decided not, and stepped on the rock he hid behind and then leapt off and surged out of the cave. His long wings extended and worked hard against the wind making him pulse through the air with ease. His streamline body as black as night as the small dragon weaved through the air. There was too much attention around this spot for him, as he did, he flew under the blew dragon and headed off to where she had came, lowering by the river, landing softly on his feet.

Trudging to the water, Eros gawked at his reflection, before seeing ripples and the young dragon dived his head in before he could think, catching a fish in his broadened jaws. He sat and nibbled on the fish slightly before swallowing it whole, only to later regurgitate it and consume it all again. Sitting back on his haunches the young dragon idled at the water.

The water dragon, better known as Aqualyn, growled in surprise when the black youngling flew beneath her and she sped on for a few moments in confusion befiore she realised he was heading straight for her water. Already at the cave, she pulled up quickly, her legs flicking up and making contact with the rock for a few moments before pushing off, her wings flapping hard enough to send a few gusts of wind swirling into the cave before she was once again in flight.

Within moments she had landed on the bank of the familiar river, towering over the nightfury with her eyes cold and seemingly unforgiving. Edging around until she was between the male and the water, tail whipping out behind her and razor sharp teeth bared she waited for him to explain himself.

Eros felt a shadow over him and shivered. He looked to see the bluish water dragon in front of him once more. Feeling sick he coughed up and regurgitated the fish he had recently swallowed. He flattened his ears back and gave a weak smile looking to the water dragon as he backed up slowly. His black skin glistened in the sun and he felt its burning rays penetrate through him, it was causing some pain but he was too scared of the water dragon for the moment to recognise that pain.

Eros started to turn, in attempt to head off again and fly, though he first tripped and made himself more vulnerable to the water dragon. The young night fury attempted to scramble to his feet but kept slipping for the most part.

Violet saw the large water dragon fly out of the lake and come toward the. What was this a gathering of the dragons? She wondered angrily. As the blue one was coming forth, Eros leapt out of the cave and down to the river. Violet was not impressed. She got more angry as the blue one's gust of wind as it turned bowled her over, sending her tumbling to the back of the cave. "Hey!" came her muffled growl as she blew her tail out of her face. Righting herself she galloped forward leaping from the stone floor of the cave at the edge of the cliff. Spreading her wings she sawed off into the sky. Let the earth one take care of that hatchling. Let Eros take care of himself, she thought angrily as she landed roughly in the branch of a tree. Slumping against the trunk she tore of some twigs and bit down on them hard, satisfied with the crunch between her teeth. It wasn't her normal food but she didn't care. From where she sat she could see Eros and the blue one. She saw the glare it gave him and his feeble attempt to escape. She felt no urge to help him.

As Aqualyn stared down at the frightened youngling no sympathy entered her mind as he attempted to scramble away from her. Sweeping her long tail around to create a ring around him to fence the nightfury in, she looked over to see the young female that had been in the cave not sitting with a very disapproving expression in a tree. With a voice alike to that of the sound of a waterfall, Aqualyn said the first thing that came to her mind, "So, young one, you really think it's a good idea to leave behind a friend who did her best to protect you from an earth dragon, even when another dragon is coming?"

Eros screeched as the tail of the water dragon entrapped him. His eyes started to tear up as he became truly scared "Please! Just let me go! I don't understand these things yet! ple-" he haltered half through his words only to start blubbering like a baby. Through the blurriness of his vision he made out the faint colours and shape of Violet. He attempted to scramble over the water dragon's tail, in an attempt to reach her.

"Violet! Help me! HELP!" he cried out still trying to free himself from the dragon's tail. "I saved you from those two legged things! Help me Violet!" the young night fury gave up his struggling to free himself and sat back against the water dragon weeping.

Violet only watched on, her pride causing her nose to be stuck up higher in the air than it might usually be. Even the water dragon's threatening move of wrapping it's tail around Eros left her unemotional. From where she sat she heard the words of the dragon. It was certainly observant itself, having understood everything correctly. The tears in Eros' eyes did nothing to move her. She watched on, her bright pink eyes as cold as ice. "You may have helped me when we were not friends and then you abandon me while we are friends! That's not how it works! I'm better off alone!"

A look of utter distaste crossed Aqualine's face as the little thing started blubbering, waterworks and all. With her nose wrinkled in disapproval she asked scathingly, "Shouldn't you have a mother or something?"

She cast a quick friendly and approving glance towards the young female dragon, before looking back down at the nightfury in curiousity. Without thinking, she called the water up a bit further, the shore of the river rising until it siwrled around them, lapping up against the youngling's calves and calming Aqualyn a little.

Eros felt scared emotionally after what his supposed friend had said. He looked away, wondering what he had done wrong. He had never anyone to teach him these things. Night furies where generally solitary creatures, how could he have known!

"Shouldn't you have a mother or something?" from then, Eros' mood changed completely. "No. I do not have a mother, nor need one.." he quit his crying, even though tears still rolled down his face. He turned looking up at the water dragons face with such speed and shot a blue fiery bolt at her, then turned back to her tail and bit into it with his small, sharp, dagger like teeth. He started to feel the water touching the edges of his tail and his feet. He held his grasp around the bigger dragons tail with all the might he could dig his jaws into.
